CONEY ISLAND, the people

The Long Island Aquarium is on the boardwalk at Coney Island. There are some great billboards along the walk from the rides to the aquarium…couldn’t resist this scene. This gentleman was quite comfortable between the otters paws! 🙂

As I mentioned yesterday, we entered the boardwalk at the old Steeplechase which also has a dock of the same name. A lot of fisherman gather to spend some time relaxing, fishing and just enjoying each others company and I am certain there is many stories told and friends made!

This gentleman was watching as bluefish were being pulled in one after the other…I was envious, as were many of the other fishermen on the dock, of this one particular fisherman that seemed to be the lucky one of the day and brought in 6 by the time I left.

And then there are those that just focus on their phones/games. I don’t get it but then I am old. A stroll on the pier in the morning should allow you to enjoy the sounds of the ocean, the smells of the ocean, the peacefulness of a slow stroll and the warmth of the sun on your face.

The enthusiasm of a young child jumping the waves…

The fun of friends on the beach…

The memories made at the park with Dad…

I so enjoyed this day at Coney Island and for locals that have never been…make it a point to visit. For visitors (in the late spring, summer and early fall months) please visit, you will not be disappointed.
