The Dogs of Huntington

Yesterday was a spring like day on Long Island…in the middle of February! It was 64 degrees and sunny HOWEVER reality set in this morning when I woke to snow! I am so glad I setup an impromptu meetup with my photography friend Bob, we started with a 2 hour walk as part of the Long Island Nature Explorers Meetup group (that post will follow), then we grabbed lunch and a beer, then walked another 2 hours through downtown Huntington Village to capture some night time street photos…that post will also be coming.

NY in general is not a dog friendly place BUT for whatever reason Huntington Village is. You can always tell a dog friendly place by the water bowls outside retail stores. I got better shots of dogs yesterday than people so I figured I’d share 🙂

This little guy joined us on our walk around the property of Coindre Hall Park

We stopped at Six Harbors Brewing Co for food and a beer and it was so much fun to see all the dogs sitting on/at the tables with their families. All these dogs, and not a nasty word from any of them. LOL

Rhodesian Ridgeback named Kono. He had a lot to say, I wish I understood dog speak. According to his parents he was complaining because his best buddy hadn’t shown up yet.
This sweet girl sat patiently as her mom did the phone thing.
I think he was waiting for his food to be served and was getting a bit impatient

This pretty Fox Red Lab was having a blast in the mud and water…Hope her mom has some covers on the seat of the car!
You may remember this pretty girl from earlier in the day. We met them on their way home and she gave a shake to say “nice to meet you, and have a good night”

Hello. Nice to meet you, well virtually anyway. I love being outdoors whenever possible, I enjoy making photographs, be it a flower, a landscape or some street photography...it is my escape and my right brain nurturing. The purpose of this blog is to share with you moments I have enjoyed, places I have visited and images that I hope will bring a smile to your day. Feel free to comment, sign up for email notification of my posts or email me. Thank you for visiting
