A Hidden GEM

Funny how we find out about hidden gems in our own “backyards”. During a recent yoga class one of the women that attend many of the same classes as me mentioned that she recently did a watercolor painting at a beautiful garden…well conversation went on and I came to learn about Landcraft Garden Foundation. This place is amazingly beautiful and for anyone that enjoys gardening, or just appreciates a beautiful garden it is hard to comprehend the thought, planning and work that went into creating this oasis. I have never seen such a diversity in plantings along with the garden art and waterscapes… I am babbling 🙂 I have some photos below, but will likely be a few more to follow. Unfortunately the garden will close to visitors very soon and reopen in the spring. I will definitely go back for another visit or two 🙂

Today was just a perfect fall day, clear blue sky with bright sun, and while most folks without a camera, would think that is perfect…when it comes to photography … not so much. Very hard to shoot photos in such contrasty light. I did my best and below are a few

Rudbeckia at end of life
What can I say, I love B&W textured trees
Elephant Ears (Colocasia) are so large as this one, when observed from underneath with the sun shining the texture is so detailed
They have a bamboo “forest”. I just love bamboo and have always been amazed how dense the foliage is.
