Gas Station Assignment

I’ve joined a photography group where we share photos, thoughts and critiques. The organizer also assigns specific subjects to shoot, which I find great as it makes me go out and see what I normally would not look at! The latest assignment was Gas Stations. I was having a problem thinking of something “artistic” to shoot at a gas station until someone reminded me of an old, no longer functioning, gas station in Yaphank. I’ve gone a few days to shoot but was not inspired by anything I had captured…UNTIL I went out in the rain yesterday.

When was the last time gasoline was 15 cents a gallon? The closest I could find was 1931
A very old air pump

  1. Beautiful images! Amazing textures and layering! Even through a dirty wet window, your shot highlighted the oily old motor oil containers! ⭐️
