Fall on the North Shore of LI

It’s all about pumpkins, corn stalks, sunflowers, chrysanthemums, and enjoying the cool crisp days! While summer will always be my favorite season, I do enjoy the change of season to autumn. I live on the outskirts of suburbia, pretty much farm and vineyard area…the fall brings masses of folks out here to all the farms for pumpkin and apple picking. I ventured out early (at sunrise) because I do not dare leave my house on a weekend past 9am or I will be sitting in endless traffic from “tourist”. All the local independant farm stands are ready for the crowds!

Briermere Farm, infamous for their baked goods.
Squash, AKA pumpkins
I had no idea pumpkins came in blue!
Colors starting to change here on the island
I think sunflowers are the happiest of all flowers!
What’s a farm without a tractor
Pumpkins in all kids of colors, not just orange!!!
Getting ready for the day
While you are still sleeping the workers are out in the fields.
