Took a quick road trip to Athens, NY this week. Long story, family needed me so Murphy and I headed north …for those of you who do not know who Murphy is…she is my (currently 5 month old rotti) and we are inseparable…my doing of course. The views over the Hudson River are just breathtaking and in a few weeks when the colors change they will be more beautiful. Grabbed a few shots late afternoon and then as usual I was up at 4:30 am and watched as the sun rose. I love that quiet time in the morning…I heard the eagles, couldn’t see them but knew they were there.

The temperature changes causes fog on the river in the early morning, and while you can see it here it was sooooooo beautiful in person 🙂

The pods in the water called to me 🙂 Very graphic but I love natures images!
The small world gets smaller… My wife and I explored Athens by foot some time ago, having docked our then boat on the Hudson there. We were on our return from just north of Albany back to Haverstraw Marina where we kept the boat. Athens indeed is a river town, but if I recall, (it was about 22 years ago) she and I got some good exercise walking up the main street from the river. M 🙂

It is a sweet little town, and over the years has been building up. New folks moving in and restoring all the lovely old homes!
