It’s been awhile…

Actually it has been 3 months since my last post…but I can explain πŸ™‚ You see I got a puppy, which is basically like having a baby, you need to constantly attend to them and if you are maternal, like I am, you may over do it a bit πŸ™‚ Anyway my new “Baby Murphy” as my granddaughter calls her, is now 14 weeks old, fully vaccinated and I need my life back πŸ™‚

I pulled my camera out of moth balls and headed out early this morning (with Murphy in tow of course) to Greenport. We arrived just after sunrise and started walking the piers. It was a beautiful morning and while the walk was a bit slow due to all the sniffing that was required, we headed down to the water. This was the first encounter with a boardwalk that Murphy has had and she was not so sure about it. When I requested that she walk onto a metal floating dock she ABSOLUTELY refused. OK, I gave in πŸ™‚

That metal section is where she stopped in her tracks, it made noise as it moved….and it moved πŸ™‚

You want me to walk on that moving thing??????
NOPE not gonna happen!

It has been so long since I have had a camera in hand that I was very uncomfortable and as a result I really do not have much to show of my 4 hour journey 😦 Everyone says if you want to be a good photographer you must shoot all the time, I now totally understand that and Murphy is just going to have to get used to long walks and a lot of “SITS”.

Happy to see the Greenport is alive and doing well, in fact a lot of new retail space has emerged…many taverns have been added.

A random chair in a random alley (between taverns). Guess it’s a good spot should you need a rest between the tavern and your car.
Not sure what this is about but thought it was kinda interesting.
I love windows and doors! This window was in the Blacksmith shop
“NOFO” is the acronym for North Fork of LI. I NEED to buy this shirt πŸ™‚

To end this blog I want to share with you a photographer that I met this morning, he was displaying his photos and WOW they were beautiful! He is a fisherman on the North Fork of LI, that is his profession but as he explained to me he started taking photos with his iphone and when he got “hooked” (pun intended) on photography he bought a DSLR camera. At the moment his website is being developed but if you have access to instagram please go take a look, I know you will enjoy #NorthForkFisherman, his name is Chris Hamilton
