Wildwood State Park, as it’s name says is a state park on the north shore of eastern Long Island. It is known for it’s camping facilities, and also that it is located on the LI Sound so great for fishing and walking the beach, but I did not realize it had such beautiful trails. I needed to get out of the house yesterday so I took a 4 hour walk with my birding lens and comfy sneakers…I added 2 birds to my life list, Scarlet Tanager and Blue Winged Warbler. I walked the yellow trail which is 3.7 miles. It pretty much follows the boundaries of the park. There is minimal elevation and the paths are well marked and kept very clear! I highly recommend you check it out if you are in the area.

Would love to get out and photograph some birds but the weather has been cooler than usual and rain. Today is beautiful out but I have a tree service is supposed to cut down a tree for me so here I sit waiting for who knows when.
