2 years ago I built 5 nesting boxes and placed them on trees around our house, last year I was disappointed that apparently my rentals were not desirable…But today, as I was pacing my deck on a conference call, I looked up and sure enough a house wren decided that she liked the real estate. I’ve been watching since and she is sooooo busy bringing in nesting material. I am excited to have a bird family to watch fledge!

In case you are inclined, the nesting boxes are fairly easy to make. You need to know what birds you are attracting as the size of the hole matters and I would advise that you purchase the metal entry protector to deter squirrels and predators from chewing open the hole.
Wonderful.
