Her name is Laurie and everyday she goes out with 40 lbs of bird seed and 6 gallons of water. She delivers both to the pigeons of NYC. I am a bird lover but I have to say where she chooses to do this is probably not the best spots. She seems to be near the street vendors…selling food. I spoke with her for a bit and she gets annoyed when folks on the street walk through the gathering of the pigeons, she obviously loves them and tries to take care of them. She also told me that on occasion she will find a wounded bird that she takes to the local recuse to have them looked after. Just gotta love her intentions, just not sure the vendors do :). I’m sure the birds appreciate her efforts.

I definitely do not approve of large scale bird feeding in a public place. It is not fair to make everyone else share your enthusiasm whether they like it or not.
