Winter Day at the beach

Or perhaps it should really be titled “Miss Murphy part ii”

I love being at the beach and while there is nothing better than hot summer days spent by the ocean there is something special about winter days at the same place! It is quieter, for sure, the sand is void of footprints other than that of the shorebirds, and the wind hitting the breaking waves makes angel figures….really take a look.

Today was unusually warm (51degrees f) , particularly since we had snow 2 days ago, and while the winds were about 15 mph it was so beautiful and not as cold as I had dressed for. On Dec 31st my 2021 off road permit will expire and no one will be allowed to drive on the beach until April 2022…so today I grabbed the last opportunity for a while. Of course I had my sidekick Miss Murphy, she had been stuck in the house yesterday with all the rain, so a good run on the beach is what she needed.

I have to admit I wasn’t sure how carrying my camera and walking her was going to work but she did good 🙂 I’ve been taking her to the beach since she was a tiny pup so I think she feels like me…this is a wonderful place to be!

Remember to enjoy the simple pleasures, a walk on the beach, the sounds of waves hitting the shore, the warmth of the sun upon your face …

  1. Wonderful shots. It looks like Murphy really enjoyed the day, however one would think the water had to be a bit cool. I am sure you will mss the summer days, but it won’t be that long and you will be walking in the water with Murphy. Really enjoyed the shots.
